The team was incredibly friendly and welcoming from start to finish. My car was ready and waiting for me right at the airport, which made arrival super smooth and stress-free. The vehicle itself was perfect for getting around the island—small, easy to drive, and handled the rough roads and potholes with no problem. It made exploring the stunning beaches even more enjoyable. Communication was also top-notch. Anytime I had a question, they were very responsive on WhatsApp, which I really appreciated. Returning the car was just as easy—I dropped it off at the airport, and shortly after, my deposit was promptly refunded. Overall, I truly believe they are the best car rental option on the island. I reserved a vehicle through Smiley’s Car Rental well in advance of our Exuma trip. The reservation process was quick and easy and we paid a refundable security deposit. We prepaid for our full rental online a week before our trip. The day before our trip I received an email from Kyntn with explicit instructions of where our airport pickup was, with a photo of the car. We were steps from the airport and on our way in no time. The car ran great and got us around the island numerous times. We filled the tank and dropped the car off at the airport where we picked it up from, and that was it! You see GO decided it would be a good idea to test out the curbs of Georgetown and was successful in proving they were well built and capable of destroying a tire. I think I bet him a hundred there was no chance Smiley would answer at 6:30 am on a Sunday. But he sure did and was there 20 minutes later. Highly recommend Smileys. At first I couldn't believe that a car rental agency could have across-the-board five-star reviews, but now I undersatnd. With FAA cutting 10% of flights, I reached out because we wouldn't know until the last second if our flight was affected. Smiley assured us they would refund us in this unique circumstance. Luckily the flights went smoothly. Regarding the car rental, these cars WILL have scratches, dents, and malfunctions, but that's ok! The island's paved main road is pothole central, and the sand/stone roads are certainly no better. It's all part of the charm in Exuma. Our car's heater/AC blower didn't work, and the headlights were so scuffed we couldn't easily see at night, but it was just fine. Trust me, you don't want a perfect car, because it very likely wouldn't be perfect by the time you returned it (through no fault of your own). Airport pickup and drop-off were super easy and right across the street from where you exit the terminal. Smiley’s gave us the best trip to Exuma because of his willingness to go outa of his way for my wife and I. We called over 10 + car rental places and all were either booked out, or wouldn’t rent to our location on the island.
